Short intercut world-wide clips, lecture halls filled with students wearing bags on their heads, graphics projected onto floating glass panels, black & white footage of TV talk-show camera set ups, karaoke singers, an orchestra warming up. All this in transition, no central focus, the cardboard robot with human hands hesitates, points at a geometric computer graphic & jumps off stage.

The Department of Memory
‘The Department of Memory’ is a new collective of photographers whose images feature found source material such as newspaper clippings, magazines, old photographs and advertising posters, within the urban environment. These locations are often disused, forgotten or about to be demolished. The photographs record various ephemera, which otherwise would remain unseen. There is the everyday here, but also a timeless element created in the mix of memorabilia. Kate Kotcheff and Andrew Stanney, the collective’s two founder members, present their latest series of works. Kotcheff is primarily concerned with the link between architecture and memory, here focusing on a factory and it’s workers while Stanney takes on a more graphic language with old film and advertising posters, both artists referencing personal and collective memory.

INDUSTRY A collaborative exploration into the potential of a collective bodily experience, brought about by the interaction between objects, the human body and space. Internal and external zones created by the artists are activated through viewers’ participation and passing through these stages. This forms a rotating system within a human industry. The work exists in ten separate workshops and evolves through the making of objects, performance, sound, drawing and video.
KEELERTORNERO

Material
Created to represent the work of designers and artists from a myriad of visual disciplines, Material promotes limited edition prints and beautifully conceived products. Due to the nature of print, much of the work is affordable and, in turn, accessible to a wider demographic, stripping away any false pretenses that may have once been associated with the gallery concept. With a desire to share ideas and provide a source of discussion and inspiration by way of carefully selected complimentary publications, we also pride ourselves on being one of a growing number of establishments who, in light of the burgeoning digital age, champion the importance of the book in it’s printed form for fear of it’s inherent demise. Rodolph de Salis
Storage-sculptor and stockpile artist Rodolph de Salis uses his Label de Salis, as if a brush in a palette, to revalue, amass and mould a random selection of objects within his collection. Glittering in hyperspace, it is a carte-blanche melange of objects found, purchased and inherited; a festival of re-evaluation, appropriation, and juxtapositioning.
